Ralph Burrell, 68, of Hayesville died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in an Atlanta, GA hospital.  Ralph was a native of Cherokee County but lived in Marietta for 22 years before moving to Clay County several years ago.  He was an owner of Rebel and Associates Insurance Co.  Ralph was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Hiawassee, Georgia.

 

He was the son of the late Jay and Ruth Foster Burrell.

 

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Elwanda Burrell; a daughter, Victoria Mae Fox and husband, James of Marietta, GA; a son, Ralph Edward Burrell Jr. and wife, Monya of Woodstock, GA; a sister, Dot Warren and husband, Bob of Gainesville, GA; four grandchildren, Courtney, Spencer, Brandon, and Tyler; and a step grandchild, Ashley.

 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 1, 2012 in Friendship Baptist Church in Hiawassee, GA with Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating.  Interment was in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

The family received friends from 5:00-9:00 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville, where the body was until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.

Aunt Elwanda, Vicki, Eddie and family. I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Ralph's passing. He was a very special man. I know you all will miss him very much. I didn't know in time to come to visiting hours and had to work on Saturday at the christmas store. Sorry I couldn't be with you. May God be with you and give you peace.

Elwanda, I just read the notice about Ralph. My heart goes out to you. Ralph was such a favorite cousin. I have so many memories of our growing up years. I am in Athens visiting Michelle and won't be able to be with you. I am so sorry. Please know I will be thinking of you.
