Lona J. Bramblet, 95, of Stanley, NC passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012. She was a native of Jackson Co., NC, but had lived in Hayesville for over 30 years and in Stanley for over 30 years throughout her life. She worked for Pharr Yarns for 20 years before retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Hayesville Church of God while living in Hayesville and a member of Stanley Church of God while in Stanley.

She was the daughter of the late George Edward and Julie Evelyn Williams Jones and the wife of the late Mack McCoy Bramblet, who died Oct. 6, 1983. She was preceded in death by a son, John David Bramblet; and several brothers and a sister.

Surviving are a son, Ray Bramblet and wife, Bobbie of Belmont, NC; a brother, Jesse Jones of McAdenville, NC; three grandchildren, James Bramblet, Donna Coleman, and Shannon Romine; and three great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Interment was in Union Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were James and Cory Bramblet, Benny, Mitchell, and Johnny Kirby, and Gary Jones.

The family received friends from 1-1:45 Thursday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.

A memorial service was held at 5:30 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in the Stanley Church of God with the Rev. Wade Foster officiating.
