Helen E. Rogers, 88, of Marble died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in a Murphy care center. She was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County. Helen was a retired seamstress working for Peachtree Products and Levi Strauss for several years. She attended Rowland Hill Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Clinton and Ellie McTiger White and the wife of the late Robert Henry Rogers, who died March 9, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Rogers, who died June 26, 1971.
Surviving are two sons, Roy Rogers and wife, Larraine and Larry Rogers and wife, Karen all of Marble; a sister, Gladys Ware of Murphy; three grandchildren, Brian Rogers and wife, Lisa, Jason Rogers, and Analisa Collins and husband, Randy; two great grandchildren, Carden Collins and Megan Stiles; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Randy Collins, Rev. Donald Watkins, Dr. Chester Jones, and Dr. Calvin Bobo officiating. Interment was in Tomotla Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth, Wayne, and Bobby Rogers, Denny McClure, Harold Garrett, and Eugene Ware.
The family received friends from 1:00-2:45 Saturday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
