In the past 15 years or so, my wife Terri and I became close to Aunt Lona as she reached out to me during a long period of my illness. Words of encouragement, her wonderful laugh, and always warm welcome will always be remembered and cherished.

She always spoke so highly of Boyd, Tim, Teresa and their families.

She left an indelible mark on many people during her long life - I am so blessed that I was one of those lucky people.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Mrs. Davis.
I remember her most fondly from her teaching days, and when she was in charge of the cafeteria. Having spent most of my career in education, I can strongly affirm that "they don't make teachers like her anymore."

TO TERESA, TIM AND ALL THE DAVIS FAMILY, I WAS SADDENED TO HEAR OF THE PASSING ON LONA. I REMEMBER HER FROM MY EARLIEST TIMES AT THE LUNCH ROOM. SHE ENCOURAGED ME AND EVERYONE TO EAT EVERYTHING ON OUR PLATES AS SHE WATCHED TO SEE WHAT WE THREW AWAY. LONA WAS ONE OF JUDY'S FAVORITE AUNTS AND THEY SHARED THE LOVE OF CATS. I WILL BE UNABLE TO ATTTEND THE SERVICE BUT WILL KEEP YOU ALL IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

My Aunt Lona was a dynamic, funny, and sensible woman and I know she loved to serve others and lift them up. And you could not ask for a better cook! I'll always remember her warmth and laughter. She was very loved and will be missed. My deepest condolences to Tim and Teresa and all the family.
