Jonathan Fielden Spradling, 32, of Murphy died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at his residence.  He was a native of Cherokee County where he had lived most of his life. He had received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Ashford University. Jonathan had worked for Valley View Care and Rehab Center. He was a member of Marble Springs Baptist Church. Jonathan was a talented musician and was a loving husband and father.

 

He was the son of Carol McRae of Blairsville, GA and Steve Spradling and wife, Debbie of Myrtle Beach, SC.

 

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Julia Spradling; two sons, Noah and Hugo both of the home; and a sister, Kristin Rodeck and husband, Tommy of Andrews.

 

Funeral services were held at 7:00 PM Saturday, June 15, 2013 in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Jeff Maynard officiating. Interment was at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 16, 2013 in the Owl Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy Rodeck, Jeremy Blake, Jeff and Brandon Brown, Travis Roper, Trey West, and Jason Smith.

 

The family received friends from 5-6:45 Saturday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.

Jonathan and I worked at Pizza hut together. He was an outstanding young man. I remember it was my birthday he said when I get 30 I will always be 30 even when I am 45 I will always be 30. He had a way of making you smile when you were down. He will be missed

I am so saddened by the loss of your son! We are never prepared to lose a loved one! I cannot imagine the pain you are going through! I pray God will wrap his arms around you and help you through these days. I know you have many wonderful memories and I hope you can let them make you smile! Just remember the day Johnathan took his last breath here on earth he breathed his first breath in Heaven!
